EFGP Peer Discussion Series: Managing to the Other Side

While there is a myriad of excellent content from service providers on managing through the impact of COVID-19, there is nothing more powerful than learning from your peers. Join your fellow EFGP members for a three part series focused on peer-to-peer learning and guided discussion on a variety of topics relating to how COVID-19 has changed and will continue to change the way you manage your business.  Join us for one webcast or for all three!

Session 2: Operating While Restructuring

In Session 1 of “Managing to the Other Side” we examined the impact of COVID-19 on business and how to prepare for the reopening of our workplaces. In Session 2, we’ll focus on what comes next: operating safely and successfully as the world continues to grapple with the pandemic.

This session will focus on topics including changes to the way we interact with colleagues and customers, the ongoing financial implications of COVID-19 to entrepreneurs, and how to drive operational efficiencies and innovation.

To enhance our peer to peer discussion, we’d like to hear from you. When you register, please pick one of the following topics to address with your peers during July’s webinar.

  • What specific successes have you experienced as you reopened that might be helpful for your fellow entrepreneurs to hear about? What challenges are you still facing that your peers can assist you with?
  • What innovations in operations, sales, finance, technology, or other areas have you made? What new tools are you finding most useful?
  • Are you in a better position to rehire, hire, or top-grade your team now than you were a month ago? How have your recruiting efforts changed?
  • How has your team responded? What lessons have they taught you about operating during a crisis? What has been your message to them?

Discussion let by Marc Sinkow, Executive Coach & Principal, Synch-O LLC

About our Moderator:

Marc Sinkow is a serial entrepreneur having founded a half-dozen companies over the past 30 years primarily in the healthcare sector.

Marc earned a BS degree from Ithaca College and took post graduate work in accounting at Wharton.

Marc began his career in sales working for a healthcare products distribution firm servicing the alternate care market; physicians, nursing homes, and home health care. His first foray into business was the formulation of a specialty home medical equipment company providing orthopedic and physical therapy products and billing third-party payers. In the mid-80s he was part of a team negotiating a compensation trade agreement with China for latex examination gloves. Seizing the opportunity he formed a Malaysian glove manufacturing firm producing powder free latex examination gloves.

In the late 1990’s realizing wholesale margins were restrictive Marc developed a domestic financial and marketing model for distribution. This model produced an annual growth rate of 36% and a one-year high of 148%.

Concurrently in the 1990s, along with a partner, Marc established a highly profitable medical transcription service focusing on physician and physical therapy offices.

Marc brings a wealth of experience having managed sales and marketing, finance/accounting, and operations. Today he shares this perspective both individually and in forum type settings. He has devoted the last several years to facilitating senior level peer advisory groups working both independently as well as with the DVIRC with manufacturers and distributors in the five counties surrounding Phila.

Marc has been an adjunct professor at Drexel, and evaluates business plans for both Drexel’s Baida Center and Temple’s Fox Business school annual entrepreneur challenges.
